Nature of the Hills Behind
Our communal spaces are welcoming and airy; attached to our small cafe there is a large terrace shaded with a pergola overlooking the port where you can take your breakfast on request. The lower sun terrace close to the sea is the perfect spot to work or read whilst boat and people watching.
The hotel is a part of the history of hospitality in Nisyros, ever since our mother Maria started it back in the 1970s. Maria became a legend among the visitors from around the world for her “Xenia”, the Greek tradition of offering protection and hospitality to strangers. Today we, her sons and our families, continue to offer the same warmth and kindness to their guests, making real friends who keep returning every year.

“I've been coming to this place for many years and it's as good as ever. Comfortable bed with a view of the sea, which is just about ten metres away so you can hear it too, and swim off the rocks. Arrival is simple - a few minutes' walk from the ferry. A little balcony, a little fridge, all you need, no clutter. Just at the edge of the village, so you have easy access to everything you need. An excellent base for exploring and walking around the island.”
